On 11 March 2011 the north east of Japan was hit by an Earthquake and Tsunami. The Japanese sailing community was left devastated but there is now room for optimism thanks to some excellent work by JSAF with the operation to rebuild Japanese sailing well underway.

GBR Gold Confirmed – AUS Win Multihulls
17 July 2009Philip Sparks and Ben Gratton (GBR) won today’s Boy’s 420 race to clinch gold. The French team of Gabriel Skoczek and Thibaut Soler win silver, Benjamín Grez and Carlos Vergara Infante win Chile’s first ever medal at the Youth Worlds by claiming bronze.
Aussie cousins Jason Waterhouse and Lisa Darmanin win in the Hobie 16. Defending champs from France take silver (that’s five medals for FRA), ITA bronze.
In the Girl’s 420 BRA already had gold secure but won today’s race. ITA claim silver. Singapore win second medal with bronze.
Laser Radial Boys Results
17 July 2009ARG’s Tomas Pellejero took silver behind Sam Meech (NZL) in the Boy’s Laser Radial. Denmark’s Pascal Timshel won bronze.
